Join Torrey Academy for a screening and discussion of The Wind Rises, a one-of-a-kind animated epic that demands to be seen on the big screen. The final film from legendary director Hayao Miyazaki (My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away), The Wind Rises is a lovely and wistful ode to human dreams in all their beauty and frailty. Timothy Lawrence will give a brief lecture on the nature of nostalgia as a longing for eternity and the way film is uniquely suited to evoke that longing. Join us for pizza at 6:00 pm; the movie starts at 6:30 pm with a discussion to follow. Parents and siblings are welcome. Please RSVP here!
