Adam del Monte is one of the leading flamenco and classical guitarists and composers of his generation. He has made it his mission to fully express himself in these two genres, transcending labeling and convention. Always incorporating a wide array of musical styles in his compositions, del Monte has embarked on a journey of creating a unique sound and language of flamenco that is both steeped in tradition, and progressive in its openness to musical flavors from around the world.

As a young boy, he began his guitar studies with his father, and continued studying flamenco and classical guitar in Spain, Israel and England. Del Monte lived and studied with the gypsies of Sacromonte in Granada, Spain and later in Madrid, where he absorbed the art of flamenco, learning and performing with the true maestros of Spain: Pepe "Habichuela," Paco Cortez and Gerardo Nunez, to name a few.

In 1997, his talent as a classical guitarist was recognized when he was awarded First Prize at the prestigious Stotsenberg International Classical Guitar Competition.

Del Monte debuted his second flamenco guitar concerto, “Paisajes”, which was commissioned by the St. Monica Symphony. He has since performed it with the Moscow State Symphony in Tchaikovsky Hall and the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, in Caracas, Venezuela.

He was commissioned by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet to compose a progressive flamenco piece, entitled Cambio de Aire.

In 2000, Del Monte performed the Concierto de Aranjuez with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and performed at the Hollywood Bowl two times: with his flamenco ensemble and again with the Los Angeles Philharmonic with the renowned Spanish dancer, Lola Greco. Soon after, he composed his first flamenco guitar concerto, Ensueño Flamenco for guitar and orchestra, which he premiered in Boston's Jordan Hall, with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project.

In 2003, del Monte performed Rodrigo's, Concierto de Aranjuez at the just-opened Disney Hall in Los Angeles. In 2005, he took part in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Music Series at Disney Hall. In 2005 del Monte took part in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Music Series at Disney Hall.

Del Monte has recorded for Deutsche Gramophone – the featured flamenco guitar part in the double Grammy award winning opera “Ainadamar” by Osvaldo Golijov (2006), with soprano Dawn Upshaw and the Atlanta Symphony, conducted by Robert Spano. Since then he has toured this opera in, Carnegie Hall, NY, Lincoln Center, NY, Barbican Center, London, Granada Festival 2011, Teatro Real in Madrid 2012, Chicago Symphony and many more.

He recorded Avner’s Theme by composer John Williams, for the sound track and CD of the motion picture “Munich” by Steven Spielberg. Other film credits include "Toy Story,” "Knight and Day" with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
