As our opening concert for the Fall 2017 Concert Series, we are pleased to present the piano quartet Masterworks and Friends. Ensemble members, Mary Irwin, violin; Lisa Boyko, viola; David Alan Harrell, cello; and Li-shan Hung, piano, in addition to being accomplished professionals with performing and teaching careers, serve each summer on the faculty of the MasterWorks Festival in Winona Lake, Indiana. MasterWorks is a four-week festival of performances and intensive study for gifted young musicians from around the country, offered in an atmosphere of dynamic Christian faith. The quartet will be joined by Elizabeth Larson, violin, in a performance of Dvořák's Piano Quintet No. 2. Also included on the program will be Brahms' Piano Quartet No. 2. The venue for this concert, previously listed as Calvary Chapel, has been changed to Crowell Music Bldg., Lansing Recital Hall.
