A growing number of christians are choosing to live their lives outside of the life and witness of the local church. Research indicates that this is increasingly true of young adults, with the college years for many being the time they disconnect from the local church, increasingly never to return. Given all that Biola offers, both academically and in the wide array of campus ministries and activities, why is living life together with fellow christians in the local church context so important?

Speakers

Brian Wilson

Brian was born, raised and educated in Scotland, earning a Diploma in Management Studies from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.  After spending the early part of his career owning and operating a small commercial real estate business Brian sensed a calling to pursue formal bible study to be better equipped for future ministry opportunities.

A short time later, after moving from Scotland with his wife and family, Brian commenced seminary studies at Talbot School of Theology where he earned a Master of Divinity with an emphasis in General and Pastoral Ministries.  Following a brief return to Scotland Brian returned to Southern California in 2008 to take up a pastoral position at a local church where he served as the college pastor.  Brian recently joined Biola to work on a two-year project to assess and address the issue of Biola students and their engagement in the local church.

Brian has been married to his wife Heather for 24 years.  They have four children including a recent graduate and current sophomore at Biola University.  When he has free time he enjoys golfing, being in the mountains, and talking and laughing over dinner with family and friends.
