Speakers

Caryn Reeder

Dr. Reeder grew up on a farm in central Illinois, amid acres and acres of corn and soybeans. She lived in Jerusalem for two years after college (on international staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship) -- living in Israel and Palestine made the Bible come alive in terms of land, space, culture, and violence. She has a Master's in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College, an MPhil in Old Testament,  and a PhD in New Testament from the University of Cambridge. She is an Associate Professor of New Testament at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. Her first book was on violence in the family in the Bible, and is currently writing on women, children, and war in the New Testament period.
