Wisdom chapels focus on biblically-relevant wisdom in the areas of: Spiritual Development, Christian Living, Missions and Evangelism, Justice, Racial Reconciliation, Apologetics, and Arts and Culture.

Julie Canlis

Julie Canlis was raised in Seattle, graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in the Comparative History of Ideas. After studying at Regent College (Vancouver, BC) earning a degree in Spiritual Theology  she pursued a PhD at the University of St Andrews. Her dissertation was published as Calvin’s Ladder (2010) which grapples with Calvin’s vision for the way humanity ‘becomes itself’ by participating in Christ (awarded the Award of Merit for Theology in 2011 by Christianity Today). Thanks to her winning the 2007 Templeton Prize for Theological Promise she has given Templeton lectures in Greece, Hungary, England, Canada, and America. She married her childhood sweetheart Matt who is a minister at their local church where she also teaches Sunday school. She enjoys junk sales, loves her chickens (and children – Madeleine, Chapman, Iona, Caitlin), and is committed to slow food and slow church.
