Where we gather together as a Biola community to worship God in diverse ways, often as we “let the word of Christ dwell richly” (Col. 3:16) in us by reflecting on Christian prayers and practices that deepen the love of Christ in us.

Speakers

Stephanie Sanford

Stephanie Sanford is the Director of Global Student Programs and Development at Biola University. Stephanie was raised in a diverse neighborhood in Long Beach, CA, providing a foundation for her identity.  Yet, her multicultural worldview was expanded even further through years spent serving on a church planting team in Kosovo, traveling to over 30 countries, and working as a professor in international student programs in various California universities. She desires to be a cultural bridge for global and domestic students, in order that they might grow more into God's ideal kingdom community.

Derek Gutierrez

Derek Gutierrez Graduated from Biola in with a degree in Biochemistry. He then went to Azusa Pacific University and received a Masters of Science in College Counseling and Student Development. Derek has worked for APU in the Campus Pastors' Office and at Montana State University Billings in Housing and Residence Life. He currently works as the Assistant Director of Student Programming at Biola, helping to oversee AS.

Lisa Ishihara

Lisa Ishihara has served as the Director of Chapel Programs at Biola University since 2008.  She oversees Biola's undergraduate morning chapels, AfterDark chapels, the Torrey Memorial Bible Conference and their respective student leadership teams and interns. She graduated from CSUF with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and received her M.Div. from Talbot School of Theology in 2008.  She is currently pursuing her Masters in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care.  Lisa is a member of the Free Methodist Church and loves her multi-generational local church.  Prior to campus ministry she worked in the local church for 10 years and was Executive Team Leader for Target Corporation.  In her free time, she enjoys sharing a good meal with friends and family, watching movies and traveling to beautiful places.
