Martha of Bethany rushed around trying to serve the Lord as her sister Mary sat peacefully at His feet. Jesus said that Mary of Bethany had chosen the better way. Mary’s posture of open childlike wonder models a contemplative scholar looking up to her Lord in quiet receptivity. How can this be a model for us today as we seek to adopt a similar posture in our studies as faculty and students at Biola University? How could such openness to truly hearing God lead us to a “Peace that passes understanding”? In this chapel we will pray for rest, peace, rejuvenation, and a renewed sense of purpose and meaning.
