Eight-Week Clinic Courses for Elementary Students

With regret, due to state and county guidelines, the School of Education will be unable to provide the Friday clinicals for Fall 2020. 100% refunds will be requested for all enrolled families. Course options:

  • Art Discovery: $90 per student per course
  • Literacy/Creative Writing: $90 per student per course
  • Science Discovery: $90 per student per course
  • Homeschool P.E.: $55 per student
  • Full Day package includes all 4 courses: $250 per student

Science Discovery Clinic 1–3

Grades 1–3 meet from 8:25–9:25 a.m.

Discover the exciting world of science phenomena firsthand as students actively investigate scientific concepts and discover different aspects of God's creation by taking on the roles of scientists and engineers. During exciting hands-on activities, students delve into areas of physical science such as energy, kinetics, and chemistry using Next Generation Standards-based lessons from FOSS science curriculum, the most awarded, most adopted program in science education.

Science Discovery Clinic 4–6

Grades 4–6 meet from 8:25–9:25 a.m.

Discover the exciting world of science phenomena firsthand as students actively investigate scientific concepts and discover different aspects of God's creation by taking on the roles of scientists and engineers. Literacy Discovery 1–3

Grades 1–3 meet from 9:35–10:35 a.m.

Students will develop their reading and writing by reading quality literature and responding to the reading through a variety of writing tasks. Using the reading process instructional approach teachers will use a variety of reading methods including interactive reading, shared reading, guided reading, echo reading, choral reading, and partner reading to develop students’ reading fluency and reading comprehension. The writing tasks will follow the writing process approach which includes rehearsing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing.

Creative Writing Discovery 4–6

Grades 4–6 meet from 9:35–10:35 a.m.

Students will develop their creative writing by working on several writing projects that incorporate the writing process approach which includes rehearsing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. Students will receive explicit instruction in writing genres that include opinion, informational, and narrative writing.

Art Discovery Clinic 1–3

Grades 1–3 meet from 10:45–11:45 a.m.

Come learn about the art elements and principles through fun hands-on art projects. Students work with a variety of materials and explore art techniques such as painting, drawing, and collage. Throughout the year students also learn about artists, art styles, and how art reflects cultural beliefs and practices.

Homeschool PE (K–8)

Grades K–8

P.E. classes feature developmentally appropriate movement for elementary aged students. Students are grouped according to their grade level to experience fun and games which include health related fitness activities as well as skill and social development for all students.
