Trevor Alan Gomes is a Los Angeles native and a composer, arranger, orchestrator and pianist. He holds a Master of Music Degree in Composition from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition from Biola University.
His merits for composition include having his work Sunscape, for SATB Chorus and Piano, premiered by the San Francisco Choral Artists under director Magen Solomon in May of 2010. In Summer of 2010, he was selected to participate in the composition program of Upbeat, a music workshop in Milna, Croatia, under instructor Joel Hoffman of CCM. In 2012, his work for piano and orchestra, Variations on a Simple Theme, was selected for a recording session with CCM's Philharmonia Orchestra, with himself at the piano. In Spring of 2013, his work for mixed sextet, Perpetuum Mobile #1, was selected to be premiered by Café Momus, one of the conservatory's leading new music ensembles.
In addition to composition, he has worked extensively as an accompanist, music director and assistant music director, primarily for musical theater and opera productions, including Biola University's Spring, 2011 production of Into the Woods (assistant music director), CCM's Winter, 2012 production of Little Shop of Horrors (assistant music director), and Orange County School of the Arts' Bridge to Broadway, a program promoting the workshopping of new musicals (music director, 2011-2012).
He currently works as Composer's Assistant to J.A.C. Redford, orchestrator of such film scores as Wall-E, Avatar and Skyfall.
