Dakota McMahand is a Los Angeles native who has a passion for education, the visual and performing arts and social justice. She received her Associate of Arts in Arts and Humanities from El Camino College and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentrations in Public Administration from California Baptist University. Dakota is currently pursing a Master of Arts in Education Administration with a focus on Higher Education and Adult Learners from the University of South Dakota. Her career has revolved around her passion areas as instructor, pianist, arts education and higher education administrator.
As a first generation college student, who is currently obtaining her education utilizing an online platform, Dakota understands many of the unique challenges that post-traditional learners encounter. She looks forward to incorporating her experience, faith and background to support learners in her role as a success coach.
During her rare moments of free time, you will find Dakota hunting for vinyl records, hiking, practicing 24-form martial art Tai Chi Chuan and exploring new vegetarian restaurants.
A fun fact about Dakota is she experienced her first snowfall when she was in Beijing, China.
