Studio Artist (Composition)
Alex Lu is a composer, pianist, and educator. His music has been performed internationally and has accompanied award-winning films in festival premieres and television broadcasts. As a performer, Alex has served as the Assistant Director and Principal Accompanist of the Golden Gate Men's Chorus under Maestro Joseph Jennings. Alex received a MM degree in composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of David Conte, and holds double BM degrees in piano performance and composition from Biola University. He received further training in the tradition of Nadia Boulanger at the European American Musical Alliance in Paris and is an alumnus of the acclaimed ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. As an educator and lecturer, Alex has adjudicated competitions and given workshops for the MTAC's Composers Today. He resides in Los Angeles, where he works as a film composer and serves on the adjunct faculty at Biola University and Glendale Community College.
