About Us

The Council for Student Success (formerly the Retention Council) serves to positively influence undergraduate student success outcomes at Biola.

The Council determines necessary data and analyzes data to establish priorities for student success outcomes. Student success priorities include:

  • Retention and graduation rates
  • Career outcomes (e.g., employment and salary rates, job satisfaction)
  • Holistic measures of success (e.g., student learning, engagement, thriving, campus climate)

Once areas of concern are prioritized, separate sub-committees may be formed to make recommendations or produce interventions to positively impact student success for that student population or area of concern.
