What kind of degree is biblical ministries?
The Biblical Ministries degree is a bachelor of science (B.S.) from Biola University. The 33 credits of core major courses cover the theory and practice of ministry based on a solid biblical foundation. You'll be able to enrich your community and ministry with the Gospel in practical, transformative ways.
Which agency is the program accredited by?
Biola is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). This is the same agency that grants accreditation to other schools in California such as the University of Southern California, Stanford and local community colleges.
Who teaches in the biblical ministries program?
The faculty of Talbot School of Theology aren’t just respected theologians. They are servant-leaders involved ministries and churches and committed mentors of their students. Broaden and deepen your understanding of God’s Word, learning from someone committed to your growth.
Do the classes run on trimester or semester?
Our terms are in trimesters, and there are two sessions within each trimester.

How long will it take me to finish my degree?
The program has been designed to allow highly motivated students to complete all major and Bible courses in as little as 24 months, but it is flexible enough to allow you to work at a pace that will fit into your busy schedule. Speak to your success coach to determine your personalized pathway for successfully completing the credits you need.
What is required to complete the program and earn my degree?

How does this degree work?
This fully online bachelor's degree is composed of 120 credits, including core major, general education and biblical studies courses. Courses are generally seven weeks long and available online year round, so you can complete your degree anytime from anywhere in the world.
When and where are the courses held?
Both major and Bible courses are seven weeks long and are available fully online. You can complete your degree from anywhere. Classes are held year round, with three different trimester start dates.
What does biblical integration look like?
You will take a full 30 credits of Bible alongside your core major and general education courses. Taking the 30 credits of Bible will qualify you for a minor in Bible. Visit the courses page for more course details.
Can I take the general education or elective courses I still need in this online format at Biola?
The Admissions and Success Coach offices can provide guidance on how to complete the requirements you need.
How much will it cost to complete the biblical ministries program?
Tuition is currently $575 per credit. Total cost will depend on the number of credits you will need to complete your degree.
Can I get financial aid for the program?
Everyone is encouraged to apply for financial aid by filling out the FAFSA form online at fafsa.ed.gov.
What kind of financial aid is available?
Loans, grants and scholarships are available. Some students may also be eligible to receive some form of employer reimbursement for tuition costs (check with your human resources department).
Is there someone who can help me with all this information?
The Office of Post-Traditional Admissions provides support to students throughout the admissions process. Once enrolled as a student, you will have your own personal success coach to help you throughout your time at Biola. From your first course registration to graduation, your success coach will be there to answer questions and help guide you toward your academic goals.
What do I need to submit with my application?
Please submit the following items:
- Application, with application fee
- Official high school transcripts and official college transcript(s)
- College transcripts should include all college courses completed by the student.
