One of the best things about Biola, other than the awesome community and Christ-centered education, is the location! Biola is about a thirty-minute drive from the beach, depending on the traffic, and about a forty-five-minute drive from downtown L.A., also depending on the traffic. The reason that the location is such an awesome part of Biola, is all the opportunities that come with it.

Some of the great opportunities include:

  • Shopping
  • Surfing
  • Hanging at the beach
  • Internships
  • Jobs
  • Concerts
  • Museums
  • Disneyland
  • Hiking
  • Farmer’s Market
  • Etc.

If you have read any of my other blogs, you have most likely realized that I absolutely love going to concerts! There is a band that I really like playing somewhere near me almost every weekend. This is perfect for me, but bad for my wallet. Just this past weekend I got to go see one of my friend’s band play with a bunch of other bands that I really like. I was able to take my camera into the show and get a lot of cool photos that I can use for my classes. Honestly, being a visual journalism major and living this close to L.A. is one of the best things imaginable.

No matter what major you are, there are countless opportunities for you to intern to help you get jobs in the near future. A few of my friends that are business majors have internships in L.A., and the same goes for some of my friends in the broadcast journalism department.

Not only is Biola a great school, but it is also in a prime location for you to do basically anything you can think of, literally anything. Some people come from all over the world just to spend a few days in L.A. So, why wouldn’t you just make that a year-round thing and come to Biola?

Until Next Time,
