Hi y'all!

How's everyone doing? I sincerely hope that you all are healthy, thriving, and hanging in there for the last bit of school! I know that's what I am trying to do now, as I approach the last few weeks of school. This semester flew by, and I can’t believe that I'm almost a senior. And because I am oh-so-much-older and wiser than all of you, I wanted to impart some valuable wisdom to you. JK. I’m only 20 and it feels like I’m floundering half the time. It's only by God’s grace that He has kept me afloat. But seriously, He has also just been teaching me a whole lot of things recently, so I thought I would share them with you. (:

1. God cares about your desires.

Alright. So I feel like the word “desire” has been deemed a bad word. I’m here to redeem it. (Haha, what a Biola joke). Anyways, you know how, as a little kid, you asked your parents for this brand new toy that you just reaaaaallllly wanted? (For me, I remember this was a Tamagotchi at one point. Remember those?!) God put certain desires in your heart for a reason, and if they truly are of Him, he wants to grant them to you. Today, I realized I hadn’t come to my Heavenly Father with things that I wanted in a really long time. For the longest time now, I had been asking him, “What do you want, Father?” “I’ll do whatever you want.” Don’t get me wrong. This is not a bad place to be in, but I realized today, He also really cares about things that I care about. For it says in Psalms 37:

Trust in the LORD. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

And it’s not selfish to ask for things from the Lord, because if they are of him, He receives all the praise and glory in the end. I don’t know why He does it, but He’s just simply a Good, Good Daddy.

2. God’s plans are better.

Wow. I had a vision for what my perfect summer looked like, and although it seemed like a pretty lofty dream, I thought this was the best option for me. I envisioned myself interning for an international relief organization for the full 10 weeks of summer. When I wasn’t offered this internship, I knew God must have something else planned, but I never would have imagined just how amazing it would all have fallen into place. Basically, I ended up being offered an internship by one of my good friends at an organization that is involved with working with migrants and refugees, a group that God has given me a heart for. So crazy. On top of that, it looks like I will be able to go to Bulgaria this summer to meet up with my dad and sister. I didn’t think I would have time to visit my family in Bulgaria, but God has been so, so, so incredibly good to me by giving me this desire of my heart. And He really wants to do the same for you!

3. God answers prayers.

Although I've had a relationship with the Lord since I was in middle school, I'm only now starting to learn about the power of intercession. To put it simply, intercession is you “standing in the gap” for someone between them and God. I could tell you testimony after testimony of God answering prayers that I’ve prayed... so specific that I could not deny that God hears our prayers and acts because of them. The list goes on, and I would love to share them with you all if you ever visit Biola!

This past week, God specifically answered my prayers regarding my sister, who visited me during Spring Break and who has been going through a pretty challenging season recently. To put it very simply, she wanted nothing to do with prayer or God towards the beginning of the week, but by the end of the week, as I was dropping her off at LAX and asked me to be praying for her. I even got to lay hands on her right in front of the terminal. Guyssss, God is so GOOD. And He hears you. Oh, He hears you! Like I said before, He seriously cares about your heart and what you care about. Just ask him.

I know it’s good to chronicle the ways in which God has been faithful, and I encourage you to do the same. The more you stop to think, the more you’ll recognize His work in your life. But again, If you have anything you need prayer for, let me know in the little chat box in the bottom right hand corner of this screen!
