
Dr. J.P. Moreland is the Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, here at Biola University.
He graduated from University of Missouri, earning a B.S. Degree in Chemistry (1970). He went on to receive his Th.M. in Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary (1979), followed by a M.A. in Philosophy at University of California, Riverside (1982). Then in 1985, he received his Ph.D. in Philosophy at University of Southern California, under the advising of Dallas Willard.
Being a prolific writer and prominent Christian figure, Dr. Moreland has published over 70 articles, authored or co-authored over 30 books, and spoken at over 175 colleges and universities. To list only a few of his previous positions, Dr. Moreland served with Campus Crusade for Christ for ten years, and he served as a bioethicist for PersonaCare Nursing Homes, Inc. for eight years.
He and his wife Hope are active members of Anaheim Vineyard Church. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren.
