Biola University has held accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Senior College Commission, since WASC was formed in 1962 to promote the welfare, interests, and development of education in the Western Region of the United States.
Accreditation by WASC must be periodically reaffirmed, and Biola's accreditation was reaffirmed for a ten-year period (the maximum allowable) in 2006. A report will be sent to the WASC office in summer 2011, addressing progress on items for further review noted by the Commission on Accreditation. The next scheduled site visit for re-accreditation is spring 2016.
