Founders Week

The theme for Founders Week 2007, “Living a Legacy,” gave the Biola community the perfect opportunity to honor their modern-day founder. On Tuesday, February 20, students came to the Biola Eagles’ home basketball game for the “Clyde Cook Retro Basketball Game.”

In a surprise twist, President Cook’s family from Washington state rushed center court to ring in the festivities wearing “Clyde Cook Throwback Jerseys.”

Honoring President Cook’s impressive basketball career, the Biola community retired his #9 jersey in a special half-time presentation.

Chase Gymnasium displayed a sea of enthusiastic students, all proudly wearing their “I love Clyde” t-shirts.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2007, President Cook was presented with the "Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Performances in Student Films."

Over his 25 years at Biola, President Cook displayed his "unique" acting talent and his incredible comic timing by participating in countless student videos. President Cook's willingness to interact with the students in such a lighthearted manner is one of the qualities that made him so dearly loved by the Biola student community.
