Profile
Tell us about yourself.
I am a guy who was born in LA County but by the age of eight years, moved to a small town called Porterville. Porterville has parades, festivals, quiet neighborhoods and all the other good stuff, although there is crime. I love it there - the days are beautiful, life is mellow, family is close by, and my home church is close. I am very quiet when I am having to start all over with friendships but when I get comfortable I can have the best time of my life. I am the youngest of three children and have moved the farthest from home. I am a business major but I want to get my Masters in Divinity at Talbot (hopefully). Life and God have been good to me. I am blessed with a good family.
What's a word or short phrase that best describes you?
Carpe Diem
What are some of your goals and aspirations?
My goals here at college are to learn and grasp the knowledge my professors offer to me, to find my exact calling, to be involved with college ministries and pastor or get involved with the ministry. I would also like to adopt a franchise or begin my own small business. I want to grow in intellect with deep reasons and truth of the faith.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to run, play basketball and video games, call some far-away friends, watch movies, read books that stimulate my thinking, spend time with family, write song lyrics, spend money and call my mom and dad.
Why did you choose Biola?
I chose Biola after I visited. It made an impact on me and raised the standards for a Christian University. God provided the way for my coming and expanded the desire of my heart to be here. Biola also had my major: Business Management Major and Minor in Bible.
Where is your favorite place to hang out?
I love to hang out in any kind of sit-in restaurant talking, laughing, messing around and making memories for a lifetime.
What makes you laugh?
I laugh when the world is at its highest beauty and I reminisce on a meaningful and distant memory. I also laugh when people hit themselves or when humanity faces the unexpected. I love when someone thinks they have made a grand point and someone else shoots it straight down. My friends and I have a great time making fun of each other's actions or irrational ideas.
Tell us one random childhood memory.
When I was in third grade, I went for a walk with my mom and siblings; however, I was on a bike. We were going around the block and my mom saw a house on sale. My mom stopped to look at the flowers in the house's yard, so I decided to ride around on the driveway. Being a beginner, I thought it was fun to go round and round and round in circles. Well, I couldn't stop (the bike had brakes but I was too scared to use them). I yelled to my mom an my siblings to help me but they just kind of laughed. I mean, think about it - a third grader riding a bike going in circles on a driveway not being able to stop! I will admit that I would laugh at myself. I eventually fell down, and boy did that hurt! Today I can ride a bike but I still don't do circles.
