Profile

Tell us about yourself.

I am the son of missionaries. I was born in Modesto, CA and raised in the metropolitan city of San Jose, Costa Rica. I am a mix of both cultures. I speak Spanglish with my family.

What's a word or short phrase that best describes you?

Random and Intense.

What are some of your goals and aspirations?

I want to know God more intimately, both intellectually and spiritually, and to grow in grace and knowledge of the truth through His revelation. I want to raise a family and travel around the world, sharing the love of the infinite God with people in need and bringing them knowledge of the hope of glory, Jesus Christ. I desire to impact my generation with Truth and the Word through film. Whether this means in documentaries or features or independent film, I desire to see lives transformed and changed by a knowledge and acceptance of the Word of life.

What do you do in your free time?

I write serious stories about people, paint abstract pictures of shapes and colors, dance with lots of jumping and twirling, laugh with friends because that's what friends do, run while listening to Chemical Brothers, and ride my purple road bike. I like to make beautiful motion pictures with meaningful words that inspire and motivate people. I love to sit on the grass and on benches in empty parks.

Why did you choose Biola?

The people. The purpose statement. The values and standards of this community. My awesome admissions counselor. The environment that encourages authentic and life-changing growth.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?

The grassy area next to one of the soccer fields has become like a second home. I also like to sit on the side of Calvary Chapel, where there are benches and tall trees with yellow leaves. There is also a peaceful place nearby through two tunnels and two bridges where I sit on a quiet bench with wind chimes playing in the background.

What makes you laugh?

People who take themselves too seriously. Anything involving fake accents and squeaky voices. Myself. Other people who like to improvise. Clean jokes. A dry sense of humor. Playing with children.

Tell us one random childhood memory.

I love mud and love to play in mud and make things out of mud. One such childhood memory involves a big mud puddle and a little boy in red shorts with white blonde hair half soaked by muddy water. I am that little boy. I still like the texture of fresh mud on my bare feet. In a lot of ways, I still feel like a big little kid. Is that weird?
