Tell us about yourself.
I am 18 years old. I am majoring in Art with an emphasis in Design and I am red shirting on the softball team. I'm from Cypress, California, which is pretty close to campus. I live on campus, however, due mainly to the fact I don't own a car or even have a license. I live in Hope Hall, which is conveniently close to the softball field and Art department.
What are some of your goals and aspirations?
To work my hardest both in school and on the softball field while I learn more about God and how I can better serve Him.
What do you do in your free time?
Free time? What's that? I like to keep it busy. I love my crazy schedule, though. With softball workouts, several 3-hour art classes, and good old homework it's pretty tight, but that way I'm never bored.
Why did you choose Biola?
For a long time I wanted to go to an East Coast school to play softball, some huge campus where I could hopefully get some sort of athletic scholarship. But God eventually hit me over the head and told me what was up. I narrowed it down to Biola and another Christian school in California, and as you can tell, Biola won. I applied to Biola on a whim, but by the time other applications were due I had completely put all my eggs in the Biola basket. I didn't apply anywhere else, and now couldn't ever picture myself living or learning at any other school.
Where is your favorite place to hang out?
I love to walk around Main Street in Huntington Beach and go, if I have the cash, to Ruby's on the Pier and get a shake. Downtown Disney is also a blast! My friends and I like to walk around and window shop in Huntington or sit in one of the hotel lobbies.
What makes you laugh?
The girls across the hall when they are dancing and think no one is looking (or then again, maybe they do). My teammates, friends from home, and occasionally even myself.
Tell us one random childhood memory.
When I was growing up in Cypress we lived on a block that had several girls around my age and we were always together doing this or that. Well, one day one of the older girls came up with the genius idea that we would take turns sliding down her stairs in her older brother's sleeping bag. After a few turns it instantly became our new favorite hobby, but as always, its only fun until someone gets hurt. I got to be that someone. I broke my arm right below the elbow and wore a cast for over a month. This was my first full-fledged battle wound. As a kid you quickly get over the pain when suddenly everyone within a four-block radius knows you as "the cool kid who flipped down the stairs in a sleeping bag".
