Profile
Tell us about yourself.
I am a 26-year-old transfer student majoring in physics. I plan on pursuing graduate studies in bioengineering as well as philosophy and theology. My heart is in sharing the truth of the gospel with nonbelievers in the academic world.
What's a word or short phrase that best describes you?
Truth
What are some of your goals and aspirations?
I would like to learn how to read the Bible in its original languages of Greek and Hebrew and to pursue a career in the biomedical sciences. I have a passion for truth and evangelism and it is my desire to be active in the academic world taking a stand for the gospel.
What do you do in your free time?
Since I've started school here I don't have much free time anymore. The classes and the workload are very rigorous. But when I do have free time I like to spend time with my roommates, work out at the gym, or read some good philosophy and theology books.
Why did you choose Biola?
I chose Biola mainly because it is a conservative Christian school where Christ is put first and where students are encouraged to pursue academic disciplines for the glory of God. Biola is also very prestigious academically and I was really encouraged by the faculty because of their knowledge and the fact that they work hard with their students to help them succeed.
Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Starbucks down the road. They have a great pumpkin spice latte and a couple of friends and I always go there before Greek class to prepare for our weekly quizzes.
What makes you laugh?
It's people more than things that make me laugh. Good people who have good hearts and like to enjoy life are the people I love to associate with. Almost anything can make me laugh when I am with those types of people. Far too often we get caught up in the negativity of life or spend too much time trying to make an image for ourselves and we lose out on the joy in life. Good friends are a wonderful blessing.
Tell us one random childhood memory.
I remember as a little boy my parents took me up to the snow one day. I had never been in the snow before. We also brought our two Dobermans. I was so excited to get out of the car and go play with my big dog and all the people that I jumped out and lost my footing just as my doggie decided to run off into the snow chasing rabbits. I held on to the leash and was dragged quite a while before my dog got tired of pulling me and finally stopped. All the people around us got a good laugh at that one.
