Extracurricular

There are many different kinds of opportunities for you to get involved or join in something fun and unique. In some cases, extracurricular activities supplement your education with practical experience. Other groups or events serve as an outlet for mischief and romance.

Whatever your interests are, there is an activity at Biola for you.

Extracurricular Activities

  • The arts – musical, theatrical and visual – play an important role in the Biola community.
  • Associated Students is Biola's form of student government.
  • There are over 40 clubs currently on campus, from Acting on Aids to the Royal Dart Society.
  • Whether you're interested in TV, print or radio, you can get involved with Biola student publications.
  • Some of Biola's most popular traditions include GYRADs and Midnight Madness.
Portrait of Chase

In November, Biola hosted Jars of Clay on campus, the latest in a great string of concerts put on by Social Board.

"So the Jars of Clay show was a smashing success. The tour manager told us it was their largest stop so far! There were a lot of people packed into the gym, where Jars played some oldies and showcased the hits from their new album. Ten years strong, and they still don't disappoint.

"I had a chance to chat with Matt Wertz, the opening act. What a great guy – super relaxed and down-to-earth. We talked about the differences between Florida and California, Nashville, the music industry, and life on the road.

"The next event for Social Board is Punk'n'Pie (the fall talent show) this Friday. Because I'm on Social Board I get to sit in on the auditions and the dress rehearsal, then help scrounge up over 100 pumpkin pies. It's going to be great!

"In the meantime, there's a group bowling trip tonight! I'm not much of a bowler, but I'll be there."
