Business Administration

It is the purpose of the Crowell School of Business to prepare highly skilled, technically competent business persons who have broad preparation in the liberal arts and who can make significant contributions in the workplace or in Christian organizations they may serve.

What will I study?

The Crowell School of Business offers four curricular emphases leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration: Accounting, Business Management, Marketing and Management Information Systems. The program is structured to give the student a broad understanding of the social and economic environment in which Christian business people function. Core courses include economics, finance, management, business law, accounting and marketing. The four different emphases prepare students through additional specified courses to enter a career field in those areas, or to select a graduate school for continuing education in business administration. Students wishing to enter the business law profession or business education will want to choose courses from these areas of emphasis.

Emphases

  • Accounting
  • Management
  • Management Information Systems
  • Marketing

Admissions Requirements

Admission to Biola University does not guarantee admission to the business administration major. Acceptance into the business administration major will be determined by the student’s preparation and performance as assessed by the faculty of the Crowell School of Business. Students must meet certain enrollment and performance eligibility requirements and formally apply to the Crowell School of Business, usually during their second year of full-time studies at Biola. A statement outlining eligibility standards, acceptance criteria and the application process as they apply to both resident and transfer students, is available upon request from the Crowell School of Business.

Biola has definitely prepared me for my career in marketing. I conducted class projects with live clients in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. My professors taught me not only how to research, but also the vital role of prayer and the Holy Spirit in business.
