Honduras, located in Central America, is one of the poorest nations
in the Western Hemisphere. The country was devastated by Hurricane
Mitch in 1998, leaving many villages in extreme poverty. Sadly, the
Honduran government is extremely corrupt and has neglected to offer
any aid to its poor, many of whom do not even have access to fresh
water. Specifically, the rural villagers of Arriba are forced to either
pay a premium or walk nearly five miles to the river for any sort
of water, which is usually not healthy to drink.
The Honduras Water Project, in partnership with the people of Arriba
and Diaconia Nacional, will see this village of 157 homes receive
running water! We are excited to see God work through us to bring
not only drinkable water, but also the Water of Life that we find
in Christ! The need seems overwhelming and our offering small, but
we trust that God will provide a way for it to be met, using us as
His tools.
