In brief:

SOS is here to serve new students.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The purpose of SOS is to assist and serve new students and families with their transition process by providing tangible resources that help them connect to the community and establish an understanding of Biola's social, spiritual and academic opportunities.

PHILOSOPHY OF ORIENTATION

As an orientation staff, our aim is to facilitate the logistical processes and provide the most efficient transfer for the new student into the Biola community. SOS works to create opportunities for the new student to connect and become informed, as well as prepared for the academic and social school year. Orientation strives to create this experience through several different factors: First, SOS leaders serve as an advocate for the new student by taking on the role of a servant. Secondly, SOS is comprised of diverse yet cohesive leaders, sensitive to differing points of view. Lastly, SOS leadership reaches out to connect with others on a personal level with intimate discipleship and accountability; stemming from the greatest common bond we have as Christians: Love.

We count it a privilege to serve Biola and its incoming students through SOS.
