Transcript Policies
- A transcript request form must bear the signature of the individual whose permanent record is being requested. If the name is typed or printed only, the request will not be honored. This policy is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Buckley Amendment).
- It is the student’s responsibility to clear all holds on his or her account before submitting a transcript request form. An outstanding financial balance or a loan exit interview hold will delay or prevent a request from being processed. If you have questions regarding a financial hold on processing your transcript, please contact the Registrar’s Office at (562) 944-0351 ext. 5231 and we will transfer you to the Accounting Office.
- We do not issue official transcripts electronically or by fax.
- “Processing time” refers to the time it takes our office to prepare your transcript. This does not include mailing time.
- Biola University is not responsible for orders that are lost or delayed by the postal service. We cannot guarantee your transcript’s arrival or the time it will take to reach its destination once it has left our campus.
- Official transcripts issued to the student will be stamped “Issued to Student.”
- All coursework will show on a student’s Biola transcript, including transfer credit. We cannot create a transcript that only reflects certain semesters or academic levels. For example, if a student completed both undergraduate and graduate level work at Biola, he or she cannot request that only the graduate transcript be sent.
- Every transcript is checked for accuracy. It is the student’s responsibility to direct concerns and discrepancies to the Registrar’s Office.
- Transcripts requested to be held for pick-up will be held for 30 days. If they are not picked up within that time, the student will need to reorder.
