Torrey Europe is a three-week summer trip and course offered by the Torrey Honors Institute. It provides students with four units of credit. Students read books prior to the trip and are led by Torrey tutors in integrating that reading, and their other Torrey readings, with the cultural and religious heritage of Europe. Students will gain historical, archaeological, and cultural insights into the origin and development of Western civilization. Torrey readings in the Bible and other classics gain added meaning as students see where the authors lived and many of the events occurred.

In addition, students get to see hundreds of amazing and beautiful churches, castles, and historic sites while meeting new people, experiencing new cultural environments, and gaining invaluable context to the books we read.

Students receive credit for a 4 unit Torrey course (normally a Junior or Senior year class). This course can also count for the Senior Thesis. Torrey Europe is also a great opportunity for students who are interested in graduating from Torrey early.
