Every summer, Torrey students have the opportunity to study in Berkeley, California. Torrey Berkeley is a three-week summer session, worth four credits in the Torrey Honors Institute program. It allows you to read great books, attend lectures, and participate in discussion groups in the beautiful San Francisco bay area. Credits earned in this program may be applied to junior or senior year Torrey requirements, making it especially helpful for students who need to concentrate on their major in their junior or senior year. You may also use Torrey Berkeley credits as a substitute for the Torrey Thesis, or for Biola general electives. To participate, a student must be in the Torrey program. Freshmen through seniors are encouraged to apply.

Think of Torrey Berkeley as Torrey Without Boundaries. The group is composed of students from Freshmen to Seniors, cramming four units of class into three intense weeks. This program gives you the opportunity for spiritual bonding and intellectual growth in a more intensive environment than is possible during the school year. You will live and study together at the Westminster House, a historic campus ministry located across the street from U.C. Berkeley's law school.
