Dear Friends: This letter comes to you with your students home, decorations up, and the family some what, although temporarily, back to normal...at least for this short season of time. For Julie and I, we are entering our final semester of Biola "parent hood" and the years of all that goes with having a Biola student are coming to a close. It has gone amazingly quickly as we prepare to have both our daughters alumna of this wonderful place. We were recently recalling the initial trama of the girls coming home at Christmas only to tell us that they had left this or that item in "their room at home" and realizing that they were talking about the dorm room at their new home Biola... But what a better place for them to call home than the dorms, classrooms, cafeteria, and campus of Biola university. And what better second family to have then the faculty, staff and students of a place like Biola. I would not have wanted my girls to go anywhere else! For all of us during this busy Christmas time, I am reminded that God has entrusted our children to us for a season, and I hope you will enjoy and savor every moment of this season of life with your children as you celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus together. From the Bee home to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Rick and Julie Bee Parents of Breanna '08 and Andrea '06 (and new son Chris Becher '06!) |

Supporting Biola![]() The
Olive Grove Project:
Not only would the park benefit the general student body by providing a quiet place to study, but it would particularly assist those in science classes. The grove is used by Biola's General Biology and Botany classes during the dry season; giving students access to the area to observe the fauna and perform experiments before the rains block passage. Adding the footbridge would contribute to student learning by allowing studies to be conducted year round. Now that buildings occupy so much of Biola's campus, it has become increasingly important that students are able to access this remaining open space. The 7 foot wide steel footbridge will open access to the Olive Grove park, leading to paved paths within the park so that students may enjoy its beauty. $100,000 will cover the cost of the footbridge, and currently a $50,000 matching donation has been designated towards this project. However, we are still needing to raise $25,000 to meet our goal for this academic year. You can make a difference today and contribute to this goal of providing a healthy and beautiful environment for Biola's students. Make a gift to the Olive Grove Project online. Biola Scholarship Fund: With over 75 percent of undergraduates receiving some financial aid, the Biola Scholarship Fund is critical to helping students stay in school and finish their education. As the cost of education increases, the need for more scholarship money grows as well. Join the many friends and alumni of Biola University, who are helping students impact the world for the Lord Jesus Christ. Make a gift to the Biola Scholarship Fund online. |

Disneyland Annual PassportMost students won't always live 15 minutes down the road from Disneyland. So why not help them make the most of their Southern California experience and get them an Annual Passport to the Magic Kingdom. Disneyland is a popular place for students to go with friends for a day of fun, or even just an evening. For $129 you can purchase a Pass that will allow your student to visit the park on 170 days throughout the year, or for $169 you can get a Pass that is good for 215 days out of the year. The Passes include admission to Disneyland® Park, admission to Disney's California Adventure® Park, special rates at Disneyland® Resort hotels, select discounts on food, admission to special Passholder-only events, a subscription to Backstage Pass, a collectible Passholder-only publication, up-to-the-minute Extra e-mail updates, and access to the exclusive Annual Passport website. In a crunch for time? Purchase the Pass on line. Note these prices are good for Southern California residents only (which believe it or not, your student now is). When buying online you will be prompted to enter a zip code to verify residency in Southern California. Enter Biola's zip code 90639 to purchase the pass. |
