Dear Parents,
As President Corey stated in an email letter before the Thanksgiving break, the Biola community is working to address the potential challenges that may face many students and families due to the nation's economic crisis.
During chapel on Friday, December 5, President Corey expressed Biola's commitment to be sensitive and responsive to the potential impact the economy is having on students and their families. Watch a video of his message.
In addition, there are two special information sessions scheduled specifically to answer questions of students whose future at Biola may be in jeopardy because of severe financial strains. Students are welcome to attend Tuesday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. in the Café Banquet Room. Staff members will be available to meet and pray with students. There will also be applications for Student Emergency Relief Fund grants for those students who qualify to request financial assistance. Students will have until January 5, 2009 to submit applications and awards will be given, as funding is available.
Please know that we stand by your students, for we are a community. God is good and we trust in His sovereignty. May we be strengthened in His might as we continue to put confidence in Him.
Blessings to you,
Colleen Heykoop
