Shelly Cunningham has a BA in Christian education from Wheaton College, an MA in Christian education from Talbot School of Theology and a Ph.D. in Education from Talbot/Biola with an emphasis in Educational Process and Design. Shelly is an associate professor in Christian education and has taught for the past 18 years at Biola University. Prior to her teaching career, she served in a variety of staff positions in the local church.

Her writing has included curriculum manuals and instructional materials for the classroom, church and parachurch organizations. She has published and presented in the areas of faculty development, educational psychology, and creativity in the teaching – learning process.

In addition to overseeing the university Faculty Mentoring Program, New Faculty Orientation and New Faculty Forum, Shelly coordinates instructional consulting, pedagogy reading groups, various faculty training seminars and a variety of other faculty development initiatives. She also works with the Learning Management System Coordinator (Matthew Weathers) on issues related to faculty use of the Blackboard learning management system.
