IDEA Results
A few weeks after a semester ends, we send all the surveys to IDEA for processing. When we get the results back, we distribute these "IDEA Diagnostic Form Reports" to each department. We distribute paper copies and electronic copies on CD to each department and try to email electronic PDF versions to each individual professor.
Interpreting Diagnotic Form Reports - These reports are fairly self-explanatory. However, if you would like more details information on how to interpret your results and how the numbers are calculated, see http://www.theideacenter.org/DiagnosticGuide
Online Results? Your results are not available online. This helps protect privacy. The process of collecting the surveys is completely separate from the process of distributing the results. So even if your students completed the survey online, we will give you a paper copy of your results and email a PDF version to you.
Student Comments. At the end of the survey, students have the opportunity to write any additional comments. If your students completed the survey online, these comments are in files on the CD given to each department and will be emailed to each professor individually. If your students completed the paper-based survey in class, each department should have copied or transcribed the comments for the professor.
Missing An Email? We're usually only able to email about 96% of the results to professors individually. If you were expecting an email and didn't get one, it may be that your correct email address is not on file on the Biola Portal. Or we were unable to determine who the survey belongs to based on the information at the top of the form. If a class is team-taught, we only send an email to the first person listed. In these cases, contact your department or the CLEAR department.
PDF Attachments. When we send you your reports by email, they are in Adobe's PDF format, so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them. Most computers have this installed. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free at Adobe. If you need help downloading an attachment or installing Adobe Acrobat Reader contact the Biola I.T. Helpdesk (http://offices.biola.edu/it/contact/).
