This annual conference is sponsored by Biola University and its graduate seminary, Talbot School of Theology. The conference is for Spanish-speaking pastors and church leaders from the greater southern California area. The one-day conference includes corporate worship, two plenary addresses by a keynote speaker, and 10 repeated workshops (registrants may attend one morning and one afternoon workshop). Additionally, there is a track for junior high and high school youth, and a special program for children ages 4-12.
The purpose of the Conference is to provide an intensive and high-quality educational and training opportunity within the scope of a one-day event, for pastors and Christian leaders from Spanish-speaking, conservative, evangelical churches. Conference themes are chosen to address important issues of concern to the church, to enhance its witness in our contemporary culture. Participants can expect to sharpen their skills and knowledge for more effective ministry.
The conference theme this year is "Facing With Christ Life’s Problems." The keynote speaker is Dr. Jaime Mirón, a Christian evangelist and author, with the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, Portland, Oregon.
Workshop leaders include Talbot professor Rex Johnson, Biola professor Phil Lewis, local pastors José Fernández and Fernando Martinez, international teachers Daniel Bustamante and Andres Panasiuk (Crown Financial Ministries), and women’s speaker Rosa Lewis. The youth sessions will be led by Ryan Sharp, a local youth pastor
Workshop topics include “Resolving Family Conflict” “Discipling Children,” “Harmony in Financial Matters,” “Mental and Spiritual Problems,” “Conquering Spiritual Coldness,” “Praising God in the Midst of Problems,” “Establishing Balance in your Life,” and, “Aging With Grace.” Youth Sessions (in English) are “Cultivating the Right Friends,” and “Trials of Adolescence.”
Registration: $18 per person before April 4 by mail; $25 per person after April 4, or at the door. Cost includes Lunch.
