Biola SIFE Team Named Regional Winner
The Biola SIFE Team was named a Regional Winner in the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Regional Competition held Thursday, April 14, in downtown LA. The team received a trophy as well as a $1,500 cash prize. The team was also invited to compete in the SIFE USA National Competition to be held in Kansas City from May 22 through May 24.
Most importantly the team gives thanks to our Lord and Savior for His loving support, in addition, the SIFE team extends their gratitude to the School of Business and the Biola SIFE Business Advisory Board (Dave Little, Thomas Oquendo and Dean Larry Strand) for their support.
Both this semester and last semester, the team developed projects that teach about free enterprise, under the headings of global economics, entrepreneurship, personal finance and ethics. The team has developed eleven projects this year and had taken the Biola name out into the community.
In the competition, the team gave a twenty-four minute presentation describing their projects as well as describing Biola University, accompanied by a four-page annual report, which included scripture.
The team members are generally from an internship class in the School of Business. However any Biola student may join the team. The SIFE team will be heading to Kansas City next month representing Biola. The team welcomes all prayer support.
