Biola Professor Featured in News About Life on Mars
Biola professor Kevin Lewis has recently appeared in several newspaper articles discussing NASA's recent excursion to Mars. Lewis was interviewed about his thoughts on the implications of extraterrestrial life, if any is found by one of the two NASA spacecrafts currently exploring the Red Planets.
The article's author posed the question, because humans are the central focus of the Bible, are humans also the central part of creation?
In response, Lewis said, "The Bible was written to human beings so that we can have a relationship with God. But it doesn't mean that God is not focused on maintaining his relationship with angels. If extraterrestrials were created with the capacity for loving, moral relationships, then it would follow that God would be interested in relating to them just as he is with humans and angels."
Since the article's first appearance in the Kansas City Star on Saturday, January 17, the article has also appeared in the Orange County Register , the Tampa Tribune and Tallahassee's Ledger-Enquirer.
