Eligibility Requirements

The Biola Computer Store is an academic reseller. Through contracts between Biola University and certain manufacturers, we can offer significantly reduced pricing on software and computers. These contracts place requirements on who qualifies to buy software priced for education, and also places quantity and frequency limitations.

Current enrollment in a degree-seeking higher education institution is required to buy educationally-priced products at the Biola Computer Store. Faculty and staff of a qualifying institution may also make personal purchases of educationally-priced merchandise.

Below is a general list of contracts in place at the Biola Computer Store with their limitations:

• Adobe, Macromedia, Symantec, Microsoft, Quark
  • One (1) copy of each software title per version.
• Apple
  Eligible individuals will be allowed to purchase the following quantities per academic year
  • One (1) laptop
  • One (1) desktop
  • One (1) Mac mini
  • Two (2) Apple displays
  • One (1) iPod per family, e.g. shuffle, nano, video
  • Two (2) copies of each Apple software title

Please Note: These requirements do not apply to everything we sell. In the case of some software licensing agreements, as well as other products, there are very specific agreements that must be met in order to purchase. In other words, if an item has specific requirements attached to it, those requirements take precedence.

Individuals of a qualifying institution other than Biola must be ready to provide their institution's ID number and any other documentation requested by the staff of the Biola Computer Store. This may include a current semester class schedule and/or student bill.

Alumni and some Non-Profit Organizations are not eligible to purchase educationally-priced products. Alumni may purchase any product that does not have educational restrictions, including Bible Software, most computer peripherals and accessories, cables, giftcards, etc. If you are unsure of your eligiblity as described here, please contact us and let us help you determine your eligibility.
