ODS Administrator
Information Technology
Biola University is seeking a ODS Administrator to join our Information Technology team. The ODS Administrator serves to administer the SunGard Banner operational data store (ODS), SunGard Banner enterprise data warehouse (EDW), and Cognos business intelligence (BI) reporting toolset; perform advanced report writing; train others in the use of the Cognos BI reporting toolset.
Responsibilities include:
- Administer the ODS and EDW as well as the Cognos BI reporting toolset. Administer additional reporting tools, as needed.
- Process application upgrades for ODS, EDW, and Cognos.
- Become trained to backup the Oracle DBA and perform assigned DBA tasks.
- Perform advanced (i.e., multiple entities and dimensions) report writing.
- Provide training on the use of Cognos and other supported report writing tools.
- Maintain a lifestyle in keeping with sound biblical principles and the University Standards of Conduct.
Qualifications include:
- 2-3 years experience administering business-level relational databases. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition is a plus.
- 1-2 years experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Functional understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and Cognos BI (or similar reporting tool).
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service and using technology to successfully address practical business needs.
- Ability to present information and training professionally and effectively to a variety of audiences.
- A heart for Biola University, its mission, and students.
- Higher education experience preferred, but not required.
- Hiring Range
- $26.54 - 32.91/hr.
