Meet the UPG
The University Planning Group was established in 1998 to focus and strengthen the planning process to effectively carry out the mission of Biola University by:
- Providing an effective, on-going planning process
- Ensuring that planning is well defined and articulated to the University’s various constituents
- Maintaining a planning process that is documented
- Increasing participation of stakeholders in the planning process
- Responding systematically to the Univeristy’s numerous strategic challenges and opportunities
The UPG has coordinated the development of the University’s strategic plan unfolded and previewed throughout this website.

The UPG has methodically applied itself to articulating a clear plan by affirming the University’s identity, articulating the University’s core values and authoring a detailed plan that was reviewed by key stakeholders and leaders in various areas.
Membership of the UPG includes the President, the four Vice Presidents and most of their direct reports and presidents of the Associated Students, Talbot Associated Students, Rosemead Associated Students, the Biola Alumni Board, Faculty Town Hall and numerous teaching faculty members.
