Doug Geivett specializes in the areas of epistemology, philosophy of religion, and philosophical theology.
His published books include Contemporary Perspectives on Religious Epistemology, co-edited with Brendan Sweetman/Oxford University Press, 1992, Evil and the Evidence for God/Temple University Press, 1993, and In Defense of Miracles, co-edited with Gary R. Habermas/InterVarsity Press, 1997. A book co-edited with Jim Spiegel on faith, film and philosophy is scheduled for publication in 2006. Two other books, one a general introduction to the philosophy of religion, and another on the epistemology of religious belief, are currently in preparation. He has contributed articles and chapters to numerous books. Examples include The Dictionary of Historical Theology/Paternoster - Eerdmans, 2000 Does God Exist/Ashgate, 2003, God Matters Readings in the Philosophy of Religion/Longman, 2003, and, The Rationality of Theism/Routledge, 2003. He maintains a full calendar of university lectures throughout North America and internationally. His hobbies include sea kayaking, the banjo, and the study of foreign languages. Doug and his wife have two daughters, Kaitlyn and Erin.
