Apologetics: Video Streaming Test
Using the equipment that you plan to view the event with, complete the following steps.
Step 1: Take a speed test, and send us the results.
Go to www.speedtest.net and select a star to begin the speedtest. The gold star represents the closest server to your viewing site.
Select a star to begin the test.
Once, the test is complete, a results page will display.
According to our system requirements, you must have a Download Speed of around 1.0 Mbps.
Then click the "New Server" button and run this test three more times for the following cities:
Los Angeles, CA:
You should have Download speeds of around 1.0 Mbps from all cities. This is important because our videos are not hosted or located on web servers at our La Mirada, CA campus.
Step 2: Video Trial
Click on the play button for the "High Bitrate Test" video below. If you can watch several minutes of the test clip without any problems then you are equipped to view the High Bitrate feed. However, if you see the buffer rate indicator (spinning wheel with numbers in the middle) at any time during the streaming playback of the clip below or you have any additional problems like hiccups, freezing, pauses, out of sync audio/video or some other problem, then you have not met the technical requirements for the High Bitrate Feed. Continue to the next step to test the Standard Definition feed.
High Bitrate Test (2 Mbps)
Click on the play button for the "Medium Bitrate Test." If you can watch several minutes of the test clip without any problems then you are equipped to view the Standard Definition feed. If you still have viewing problems (buffer rate indication, hiccups, freezing, pauses, out of sync audio/video) then you are not equipped to view this broadcast. Successful tests today do not guarantee a successful viewing. To ensure the best possibility viewing experience, complete these tests and meet all system requirements.

Why can't I go full screen?
If you are using a dual monitor system to view this event you will need to connect the primary monitor of your system to your video projector or TV set. This is a limitation of the Adobe Flash Video Player.
My speedtest.net results are less than 2.0Mbps, but I can see the entire test video clip just fine, is that a problem?
Perhaps. The bitrate of web video has high points and low points. These highs and lows can cause problems if your internet connection is not fast enough or consistent enough.
