What is an Internship?
An internship is an opportunity to learn more about a particular field and gain
real world work experience. Sometimes called, “practicums,” “field
study,” or service-learning,” internships can be part-time or full-time,
during the semester or in the summer, paid or unpaid, for academic credit or
not. Some internships can be found from your own networking and others through
internship listings. Application deadlines vary; give yourself about 6 months
for the best opportunities.
Internships can be found or arranged in most any field, including:
Non-Profit, Business, Government, Public Policy, Education
Science, Medicine, Public Health, Environmental
Communications, Entertainment, Arts and Museums
