What is a Calling?
Vocation and Calling are often used interchangeably to speak of the particular direction in life that fits with who you are, your gifts, and your sense of integrity. A mysterious movement of God in and through us, our calling allows us to partner with God to make a difference in this world.

Calling in this sense is concerned with career decisions, but it also extends to the whole of one’s life and how one lives.   Our callings allow us to participate in what God is doing in the world and to make a contribution for good.

One definition of Vocation or Calling comes from Christian author, Frederick Buechner, who says:

“The place God calls you to is
the place where your deep gladness and
the world’s deep hunger meet.”
