Biblical View of God’s Guidance
The Conversational View* gives us a biblically based, and more balanced understanding of God’s guidance in our lives. In the Conversational View, there is appropriate, clear, specific communication from God to the individual believer, but it is a part of a whole life experience with God. It takes into account that relationship with God is between two persons with two personalities, two wills and two desires. It stems from ongoing conversation about what God is doing, about what we want, and about the circumstances of our lives. It is a dance where, though God leads, we are a true partner that helps that dance occur. Thus, it not all God, nor all us. It does not entail God mapping out every step, nor leaving it all to our own wisdom. It is a collaboration where we become co-creators with God to bring about the purposes of God within the kingdom of God on earth.
