Dr. Bustamante's research interests focus on family and child/adolescent issues as they relate to culture. In addition, combat related PTSD and depression as it is influenced by cultural identity is a recent area of interest that has emerged from her experience as a commissioned officer with the United States Air Force Reserve. Dr. Bustamante is currently assigned to the 349th Aeromedical Staging Squadron at Travis AFB. She is working on creating a mental health assessment program for pre- and post-deployment. Dr. Bustamante also conducts parenting workshops and seminars related to ethnic minorities in education. Dr. Bustamante maintains a small clinical practice in which she specializes in family and child/adolescent issues.
