B.A. Degree in music

The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music is intended for the student who wishes to study music within the liberal arts degree framework. It is appropriate for those who do not have specific professional career goals in the performance, composition, or teaching of music, but who wish to use a degree in music as a foundation for a wide range of career options and/or graduate study in areas such as musicology, law, theology, church music, etc. The emphasis in this degree is on a broad coverage of music rather than on specialization. However, the nature of music as a performing art necessitates at least a moderate level of performance proficiency in a principal instrument or voice.
