The Financial Assistance Fund-GL 03761

In 2001 the Christian Education Department established two funds on behalf of our Christian Education Ministries students.  The first fund is a financial assistance fund.  This fund is set up to assist current Christian Education Ministries students to continue their education at Biola University.  Students are encouraged to apply for this scholarship if they find themselves short of funds to continue their education.  Our department chair, Richard Leyda, Ph.D, makes the selection of the recipients, by using a short list of criteria.  First, they must be in good standing academically and they must also be in need.  We tend to honor seniors first, then juniors, sophomores and freshmen.

The Christian Education Activities Fund-GL 03298

In 2001 the Christian Education Department also established a Christian Education Activities Fund.  This fund’s purpose is to help defray or pay for community building activities within the Christian Education Department.  Some of these events include, men’s and women’s retreats, graduation receptions, and generally one social activity per semester.  Because Christian Education is a very relational vocation, our students generally enjoy spending time with each other.  This fund has been a blessing to many who have attended such events.

To donate to either the Christian Education Financial Assistance Fund-GL03761, please send a check payable to Biola University with GL03761 written in the memo section.
