Loren Baker

Chairman, Department of Art

Loren Baker was one of three students in the first graduating class of the Biola Department of Art in 1973. He holds an M.F.A. degree from Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles. He has taught at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky and Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, New York where he was department head for many years. Professor Baker is a sculptor and assemblage artist. His work can be found in private collections throughout the United States. For the past decade he has served as a consultant for the National Association of Schools of Art & Design, the official accreditation agency for art departments and schools throughout North America. Mr. Baker has been instrumental in instituting the Biola European Interterm Art Travel Abroad Program that annually takes interested students to various locals throughout Europe including Italy, France and Spain.
