Originally from Kansas, Los Angeles based artist Jane Gillespie received her MFA from Claremont Graduate University, and her BA from the University of Southern California. She was a 2010 Maguire Fellow and a recipient of the Joe Sonneman Photography Award. Her work has been exhibited in Southern California and is part of Los Angeles Metro’s public art collection. Gillespie works primarily in sculpture and photography. Her work highlights the ways we arrange ourselves in relationship to other human beings, creating a complexity of emotions and a possibility for exchange. The works are persistent and impermanent, attempting to be realized, or make themselves known. Gillespie also teaches in the MFA department of Azusa Pacific University.
